ME II Coming Soon!
LINC proudly announces the addition of a new 40 bed facility which will be available in the spring of 2011. The M.E. Roberts II facility will house 20 men and 20 men in a totally renovated and modern building that used to be the New Hanover County jail! More information ahead!
The NWP also offers assistance with resume and cover letter writing, interactive training for job interviews (such as mock interviews), and educational services. LINC has found that stable employment is one of the biggest in successful reentry, and makes a person feel like an active and valued member of the community. This also helps the community as a whole, increasing employment rates.
Housing
Currently ME Roberts I is structured to house ten men returning from incarceration. The program is six months long, with the ultimate goal of securing independent housing.
Transportation
LINC provides transportation for current residents who do not have access or the financial means to get from place to place. We offer bus tickets for our clients, and have a van for transporting people when needed. We guarantee the companies who employ our clients that they will have a reliable way to get to and from work everyday, and ensure our clients that if they do not have the means we well help them to get to their appointments with social services, corrective services, and other locations in the Wilmington area that help people advance their situation.

- Improve cultural awareness among LITE participants through celebration of African American pioneers
- Prevent LITE participants from becoming teen fathers

LINC has developed a curriculum especially for African American young men. The curriculum consists of: intensive case management, right of passage, ropes course, tutoring, educational and cultural field trips, weekly workshops, mentoring, and spiritual awareness.
The LITE program enables youth's ability to remain enrolled in school and avoid direct involvement with the juvenile justice system. Ultimately, LINC, through LITE, is working to “break the cycle of crime.” Students will develop a supportive group culture, learn appropriate leadership skills, acceptable school and community behavior, and gain self confidence and self esteem, and appropriate etiquette for advancement within society.
